NOHVCC Welcomes Alexandria Lewis, Idaho’s Newest State Partner

The National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC) is proud to announce and warmly welcome Alexandria Lewis as our new Idaho State Partner.

We recently had the opportunity to learn more about her background, accomplishments, and vision for the future of off-highway recreation in Idaho—and we’re excited about the experience and passion she brings to the role.

What clubs, associations, or other background do you have that benefits NOHVCC?

I am the Founder and President of Mountain West Recreation Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to responsible recreation, trail stewardship, and public land advocacy across Idaho and the Mountain West. Through this work, I regularly collaborate with land management agencies such as the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Forest Service, Idaho Parks and Recreation, and Idaho Fish and Game.

Our organization works closely with OHV clubs, volunteers, and outdoor organizations to support trail projects, signage installation, stewardship efforts, and education focused on responsible recreation. I’m also a Tread Lightly! Master Tread Trainer, an Idaho Master Naturalist, and serve as an EMT. These experiences allow me to bring both conservation and safety perspectives to the outdoor recreation community.

What type of OHV activity do you enjoy?

I love exploring Idaho’s backcountry through overlanding and trail riding. Some of my favorite experiences involve discovering remote routes, supporting trail projects, and helping others explore new places while emphasizing safety, preparedness, and stewardship.

What accomplishments have you made in the OHV community?

Through Mountain West Recreation Alliance, we’ve organized trail cleanups, built jack-leg fencing, installed OHV signage, and partnered with land managers to improve and expand motorized trail access.

Education is also a major focus. We regularly involve volunteers and youth groups in stewardship projects that promote responsible recreation and encourage the next generation to care for our public lands. As an EMT, I’m also passionate about encouraging safety and preparedness in the backcountry, helping ensure people can enjoy these spaces responsibly.

What has been your experience with NOHVCC?

While I haven’t yet attended a conference or workshop, my experience with NOHVCC has been very positive. The organization provides valuable tools, resources, and education that support sustainable OHV recreation and responsible trail management.

What do you hope to accomplish as a State Partner?

I hope to strengthen collaboration between land managers, recreation groups, and communities across Idaho to support sustainable OHV opportunities. Idaho has an incredible trail system, and I’d love to help expand stewardship, education, and trail development efforts so these opportunities remain available for future generations.

What could NOHVCC assist you with to make your State more appealing to the OHV community?

Access to additional training opportunities, planning resources, and stewardship tools would be incredibly helpful in supporting ongoing efforts throughout the state.

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a NOHVCC State Partner, please visit www.nohvcc.org for more information and explore each State Page for state-specific details.

Please join us in welcoming Alexandria to the NOHVCC family. We look forward to working alongside her to support the continued growth, connectivity, and stewardship of the Idaho OHV community.
