Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) ATV Program Partners with NOHVCC for 2025 Conference

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) ATV Program is proud to partner with NOHVCC for the 2025 Annual Conference in Bend, Oregon. This year’s event will feature an exciting mobile workshop on Thursday, October 9th at Santiam Pass.

The workshop includes a guided side-by-side riding tour on U.S. Forest Service trails, beginning in Sisters and climbing through the scenic Oregon Cascades to the summit of Santiam Pass. Participants will experience firsthand the beauty and diversity of Oregon’s trail system while learning from local experts.

In Oregon, adults ages 16 and older only need a valid state-issued driver’s license to operate a side-by-side. However, we strongly encourage all participants to complete Oregon’s free online ATV Safety Education Course before attending. This course covers:

  • Oregon ATV laws and rules

  • Riding etiquette

  • Rider readiness and environments

  • Safe riding techniques

Upon completion, a temporary ATV Safety Education Card will be issued via email, with a permanent card mailed within 2–3 weeks.

If you plan to participate in the Thursday Mobile Workshop, NOHVCC highly recommends completing the course in advance to enhance your riding experience and safety.
