NOHVCC ATTENDS 10th ANNIVERSARY OF HIGH MOUNTAIN ATV JAMBOREE Wallace, Idaho plays host to one of the longest-running ATV events in the country
NOHVCC Transportation Coordinator Joe Vance and his wife Ann, the NOHVCC Operations Manager, pulled the shiny NOHVCC semi into Wallace, Idaho last month for High Mountain ATV Jamboree. The two were on hand to support the Jamboree's 10th anniversary this year. There were over 200 registered riders with nearly that many friends and family along for the vacation as well. GREAT RIDING AND SCENERY "Shortly after arriving we knew that Wallace, Idaho was the place to be this summer," reported Ann. "Lots of great folks and hundreds of miles of trails for ATVing, dirt biking and hiking, and snowmobiling in the winter. The combination of the riding and the scenery is awesome." Joe and Ann spent a day of absolutely great riding with Ron Hood, President of the High Mountain ATV Association and his wife Louanne as well as several others. Bill Sherk of ATV Magazine Television and local newspaper writer Erin Stuber were along to do some reporting and film a segment on the jamboree for airing in the fall. Joe even made the front page of the newspaper. The Jamboree not only featured organized and open trail rides, but lots of fun events such as an ATV Rodeo. NOHVCC BOOTH IN ACTION A booth was set up in front of the NOHVCC semi where Jamboree participants had a chance to find out about our organization and supporters. Lots of brochures were passed out and Joe and Ann had many chances to talk with the locals as well as Forest Service personnel throughout the week. The NOHVCC sound system was used for evening festivities. Anyone looking for a great week of ATV riding should plan to attend the 2005 High Mountain Jamboree tentatively scheduled for July 18th – 23rd.
