Triva Question

Most folks involved in the off-road world are wondering how the aftermarket exhaust builders are doing in their battle to make quieter pipes that can still pump out the ponies. In the latest issue of Dirt Bike Magazine, (Aug.) there is a feature article entitled "Noise vs. Power" which compares pipes for the Honda CRF250X. So how have the pipe builders done in their quest?

(see answer below)

Who's that on a quad! Yep, that's Dale Earnhardt Jr. hopping on a Polaris. The NASCAR superstar recently went riding with NOHVCC's Brian Sears in North Carolina. Brian had a chance to fill Junior in on what our organization is all about. Earnhardt is the new spokesperson for Polaris ATVs. (see story to the left).

Triva Answer

With baffles installed, all of the aftermarket pipes tested were well under the California 96 dB limit. However, most of them eked out a little more horsepower with the baffles removed, which of course made them considerably louder. Hopefully, riders throughout the country will choose the current quieter set-ups when they're out on the trails.
