THE FOREST SERVICE OHV RULE IS FINAL

Now is when the work begins for OHV enthusiasts to become active in their local trail designation process; the ARRA vows to give riders the information to get the job done right

After what seemed like a never-ending process, the U.S. Forest Service's Final Rule is policy. Now the hard work begins in implementing the rule and your participation in this process is critical for the OHV community.

Americans for Responsible Recreational Access (ARRA) have been busy analyzing the rule and consulting with others to determine all of the ramifications of the new policy. As is usually the case, the devil is in the details and sorting out all those details is a time consuming process. In the meantime, they have posted on the ARRA website a summary of the rule (click here) as well as a comprehensive listing of all the locations of the national forests under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Forest Service (click here)  This listing, along with the links to each forest's website is available for your use. They believe this information, along with additional information they will be posting on the ARRA website in the coming months, will assist you in becoming active in the designation process at your favorite national forest. As they have said, your involvement is critical if OHV recreation is going to have a meaningful place in our national forests. The OHV route designation process is key to YOUR future!
