NOHVCC CREW BUSY AT INDY DEALER'S SHOW, ATLANTA SX, AND WEST VIRGINIA SAFETY DAY

Gearing up for 2006 by spreading the word on the NOHVCC, making contacts with activists, and getting future riders pointed in the right direction

A whopping 25,000 dealers attended the Indy Powersports Dealer Expo 2006 in downtown Indianapolis this past month. As usual the NOHVCC had a booth on hand with nearly the entire staff in attendance along with President Dan Kleen and Board members Ernie Lombard and Lewis Schuler. As well as introducing ourselves to dealers from across the country, the Expo typically provides lots of great networking opportunities as nearly everyone who is the business of ATVs and motorcycles is at the event.

The BlueRibbon Coalition's Breakfast of Champions on Sunday morning is always a lot of fun. Money generated from the big auction goes directly into the BRC coffers.

This year's emcee for the BRC Breakfast of Champions was Rick "Super Hunky" Seiman (left) of Dirt Bike magazine fame. Here he gets a few funny comments from racing champions (left to right) Scot Hardin, Dick Burelson, and Jimmie Lewis.

One of the best parts of the show is all the wild machinery on hand. This street-legal (at least in Europe) BMW 1100cc-powered quad was a real eye-catcher. To see a bunch more shots of the products and machines at the show, check out the AMA Indy coverage on their website for motorcycle stuff and ATVscene.com Indy coverage for ATV stuff (caution- there's a "Girls of Indy" photo feature on the ATVscene site!).

The West Virgina Extreme Sports Safety Day in Huntington featured a series of posters the school kids made ahead of time. We thought this one was pretty neat.

There were several fun "draws" to the WV Safety Day such as free climbs up the climbing wall. The local hospital generously handed free bicycle helmets for the kids to take home.

West Virginia NOHVCC State Representative Mike Pinkerton got an opportunity to show his two boys the original Adventure Trail for the first time. The NOHVCC truck with the Adventure Trail display was parked outside the main entrance to the Memorial Coliseum where the Safety Day was held.

The Georgia Recreational Trail Riders Association (GARTRA) set up a booth for both their organization and the NOHVCC and the BlueRibbon Coalition in the indoor pits at the recent Atlanta Supercross.  "The booth was very busy all day," reports NOHVCC Alternate State Representative Mark Carpenter. "We were right behind Bubba's Kawasaki pits and motorhome. Attendance for the day was 71,000+, the biggest yet!"
