NAOPM AND NOHVCCC ANNUAL CONFERENCES CONCLUDE IN NEW MEXICO                                           
Most of the NAOPM and NOHVCC Conference participants gathered for a group photo following the concurrent conferences held that day. It was the second-largest Conference on record with a total head count of 206 folks, all interested in "creating a positive future for OHV recreation".

OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE EXEC TELLS CONGRESS ACTIVE TRAIL MANAGEMENT IS WORKING
Russ Ehnes, Executive Director of the National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC), made his remarks during a hearing on the impact of off-road vehicles on federal lands. The Natural Resources Committee Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands in the U.S. House of Representatives called the hearing. Mr. Ehnes cited numerous examples where OHV management has been successful, including the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System in West Virginia, the Paiute ATV Trail in Utah and the San Bernardino National Forest in California. TRAILS IN TROUBLE DVD HIGHLIGHTS NATIONAL FOREST LAND-ACCESS ISSUES FOR YOUR LEGISLATORS
 
A unique DVD has been developed for use by OHV advocates as a way to get their concerns heard by their local and national lawmakers. "Buying and presenting this hi-res DVD version is crucial to our objective," according to Advocates for Access to Public Lands, the organization behind the program. "The more people that see the DVD version in public settings, the better chance we have of saving the National Forest trail systems." An all-new feature on the NOHVCC website currently offers 23 informative OHV articles and 56 photos, all designed to help create a positive future for OHV recreation. Many of the articles tout the myriad of services, education materials and "tools" that the NOHVCC offers. "Getting the word out to grassroots riders about everything we have to offer is essential to our organization's goal of ensuring more and better riding opportunities in the coming years," explains NOHVCC Communications Director Steve Casper.
