LEWIS SHULER APPOINTED AS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE CYCLE CONSERVATION CLUB OF MICHIGAN

The CCC is one of the largest and oldest off-highway motorcycle and ATV clubs in the nation, dating back to 1968 and with a current membership of over 5000 worldwide. "This new job with the CCC includes lots of opportunities for me and I can't wait for the weather to warm up," says Shuler who is the NOHVCC Alternate State Rep. from Michigan. "We're ready for the new season and we already have12 or 13 big family rides planned for our members. Hopefully I'll be hitting the trails at most of them!"

Triva Question

By most accounts the sport of Supercross began with the the Superbowl of Motocross which was held in the LA coliseum in 1972. However, there were two other previous major stadium motocross races held in Europe previous to that. Where were they and when?

Triva Answer

Motocross races were run in a stadium outside Paris in August of 1948 and in a Prague, Czechoslovakia, stadium in May of 1956. The Prague event drew an estimated 100,000 fans. There were also some stadium motocross events in Norway during the 1960s.
