Public Comments in Support of OHV Recreation needed in the Jean/Roach Area in S Nevada

Post date: November 09, 2011

Your input is needed. It is very important that people send in public comments in support of OHV recreation in the Jean/Roach area in South Nevada

It is going to be very important that people send in public comments in support of OHV recreation in the Jean/Roach area, if the public want to continue to recreate in the Jean area.

In addition to recreation this could affect hunting opportunites and general access to the valley. The proposed Solar Energy project will affect both the established OHV pit/parking/camping areas and WILL affect how races are conducted in the area.

This one of the last areas in Clark County that OHV recreation is allowed, especially competition OHV racing.

The Jean Valley is historically a place that everyone enjoys OHV racing.

The proposed alignment for a power line  does not currently have a power line through this portion of the valley and will affect the main east-west portion of the truck and buggy course from what is referred as the shoot site staging area.  The motorcycle races and the upper Knight Ranch pit (MRAN night racing favorite) make also be affected.

Your input is needed.  You do not need to attend the meetings but we do encourage you to submit written comments.

Comments can be submitted to Mr. Gregory Helseth at our Torrey Pines address and all comments are due by 12/12/11.

The public meetings for the Bright Source / Valley Electric EIS is coming up in November. The 8th is in Pahrump(Library 6-8), the 9th is Jeann(Airport 6-8), the 10th is Boulder City (CSN Boulder City Center 6-8).
